The Spring 2013 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, on stands now, features a color pairing that can warm up a room or cool it down; be bright and modern, or vintage and romantic. The pretty combination of cornflower blue and melon looks beautiful in flowers, on flavors, and everything in between! I simply ADORE this color combination and I wanted to share a few of my favorite images from the Spring issue with you today.
Lovely inspiration from table settings and food, to invitations and flowers, and even a gown for the rare bride who dares to wear a non-white dress, these colors offer endless versatility for a creative palette. Beyond weddings, these colors are perfect to inspire any warm-weather celebration! Let's check out all the prettiness and I hope you all have your issue of MSW....as always, it's filled with tons of beautiful inspiration for your big day...Enjoy!!

Hi Guys and Happy Friday....let's take today and enjoy a few of the cafe's favorite inspiration boards from our beautiful friend Alisha of Weddings of Whimsy....thanks for all of the lovely inspiration Alisha!......Enjoy!!
I have some gorgeous color-palette eye candy for you all today! I am inspired by the refreshing hue of mint. It's kind of the more green version of sky blue... and it's amazingly versatile! I had about five different color combinations in my mind that worked well with mint, but as soon as I saw it next to my favorite hue of pink- the decision was made. Blush is exactly what the name says it is. Its three parts au-natural and two parts happiness. The perfect compliment to cool mint. The best thing about this combo is that I can picture it in a romantic, outdoor wedding just as much as I can see it in an indoor museum venue against stark-white walls. It is the perfect combination for those wishing to create an ethereal look to their wedding while still adding color. So sit back and soak in this refreshing color palette and be inspired! ~ A

I was inspired earlier this week by an article in Martha Stewart Living about jadite, old fashioned green glassware that really puts a pop in your decor. The shades of jadite paired next to any light shade of blue reminded me of seaglass... which brings me to this post! Calming blues and clear, glassy green... what could be a more lovely pair for a spring or summer wedding color palette? One of my favorite things about these seaglass shades are that you don't have to go crazy trying to match everything perfectly. As long as you stay within the same soft tones (no neon lime greens, please.) you will acheive this fresh, serene look.

Happy Friday, Everyone! It's Alisha here. I had a little bit of a break last week and it was so nice to have some vacation time, but I am back this week with another color palette! Today I have for you; Caramel Latte & Dusty Blue Details. It is a combination of pretty sky blues that have been a little toned down and faded, paired with golden and caramel hues. The combo is less committal than the aqua and brown palette that has become so popular. I call this the summertime version, things just seem better in the summer. :-) Enjoy!

It's another very lovely summer Friday at The Cafe, and my mind has been on the ocean all week long! Between Richmond's rainy day skies and these lazy beach day longings, I have come up with a color palette of calm, beautiful blues. You really can't go wrong if you mix different shades of the same color. I would love to see bridesmaids all wear a different shade of blue. So pretty and perfect for summertime! For a color palette of these blues, I like the idea of adding some gold elements, but if you are more of a silver or gray person, that would work well too in tying it all together. Hope you all enjoy your weekend and get a little time to gaze out into the ocean!!! ~ A

Hi Everyone! Coming to you all on a Thursday this week, but don't you worry, Friday is jussst around the corner! :-) For today, rest your eyes on a color combo that is energizing enough to help you make it through the week, yet calm enough to ease you into a restful holiday weekend! This soft yellow added to a dreamy barely-there pink makes the most beautiful summer combo! Add Khaki as a neutral and then things really pop! The result is simple, pure, sunny-day romance... Enjoy! :-)
