Hi my lovely cafe readers.....you guys know how much I adore my beautiful friend Katie of Katie Stoops Photography, well, she's stopping by today with the gorgeous wedding of Alena & Ben.....I love working with Katie....not only is she an AMAZING photographer, Katie is SO much fun to be around and to work with...you are going to love Alena & Ben's wedding story....let's check out the beautiful images sent over by Katie...Enjoy!

Alena share a little info with us.....“We looked at a ton of venues in Northern Virginia, D.C. and Maryland…we drove up to St. Michaels (we had never been before) for our appt. at The Oaks. As soon as we pulled up, we got really excited (this was probably our 8th or 9th venue). As soon as we started the tour, we just looked at each other and knew. The water was calming and the venue was elegant with some rustic charm. It was definitely love at 1st sight!! We cancelled the rest of our appts with other venues that day and called our parents with the good news.

We really wanted our wedding to focus on love, family and friendship. Our family and friends are so important to us and have helped us immensely throughout our relationship and wedding planning. We really wanted everyone to feel like they played a part in the day and feel loved and comfortable.

Our favorite moments included Ben’s Dad marrying us…it was so special and meaningful. Seeing Ben on the dock before the wedding and having a few moments to ourselves before the wedding to take each other in. Our wine box ceremony (knowing that there are letters from our parents and grandparents in there too means so much to us. It makes me cry just thinking about opening it in 25 years and seeing their handwriting and their letters to us about love and marriage). My parents are divorced and both sides of my families blended so easily..it truly meant the world to me. Dancing with my little brothers Conor and Christian (and I didn’t even have to bribe them!!). Seeing my grandparents dancing together to Lady Gaga!! The kids taking over the dance floor (at one point, my cousin cleared the dance floor to do a back-flip!)."

LOVING THE SHOES...OMG...too cute!

And the gorgeous bridesmaid on the right is my bride Claire....I had the honor of designing the florals for her wedding last year....(Ben, the groom is Claire's brother)
